History:
The original Scott Equipment and Engineering Company was founded as a proprietorship in 1948 by Roger L. Scott in Dayton, Ohio. Working from their private residence, Roger and his wife Doris established a successful business distributing industrial air, hydraulic, and material handling equipment.
Our founders set the example of a passionate work ethic and values-based principles that have been the basis for our six-plus decades of successful partnership with our customers, suppliers, and employees.
Present:
We design and sell fluid power systems and electronic controls. Scott represents the best fluid power manufacturers in the industry and carries over $13 million in inventory to fulfill our customer’s immediate requirements. Our sales teams partner with our customers to improve their equipment’s reliability and performance and simplify the purchasing process.
Scott Industrial is proud that one-quarter of our teammates have been with us for over 25 years, and we boast average workforce tenure of 15 years. This longevity and our extensive on-the-job knowledge ensure that your fluid power needs are met. Our mobile and industrial market expertise makes us the premier, one-stop fluid power resource for our customers.
Scott Industrial Systems has continuously evolved and grown to meet our customers’ needs. Beyond selling components, we design and build hydraulic power units and test stands. As an authorized warranty repair center, we offer field service and in-house repair. As an authorized build center we can provide gear pumps, motors, and directional control valves on demand.
Current:
Recently, Scott Industrial Systems added 18,000 square feet to our systems build area increasing our assembly and warehouse capacity.
Along with the building additions, Scott Industrial has added new jobs in the region. We doubled our engineering staff and added an engineering lab to facilitate programming electronic control systems. With this expansion and added staff, we are poised for growth.
In 2016, Scott Industrial acquired Engineered Fluid Power Products. Established in 1968, Engineered Fluid Power Products supplies hydraulic and pneumatic systems and components. “Their location in Schaumburg, Illinois, puts us in an excellent position to expand our presence in the Midwest”, said Christina Logan, Scott Industrial Systems’ President.
In 2017 Scott Industrial purchased Sun Cost Hydraulic and Electric Manufacturing located in Jacksonville, Florida. Established in 1993, Sun Coast manufactures hydraulic power units and electric control panels to serve the car wash and wastewater industries.
Then in 2022, we purchased Miami Control Systems in West Milton, Ohio. For over twenty years, Miami Control has provided comprehensive automation solutions. With Scott Industrial’s support, we can expand our capabilities to provide customers with design, manufacturing, installation and programming services.
