Position Summary:
This critical position will be responsible for communicating with assigned suppliers for updated delivery information and for maintaining the accuracy of purchase order delivery dates within our operating system. This position will also have some responsibility for purchasing inventory based on company policies and procedures.
Education and Experience:
- Required: High School Diploma and 1 year of purchasing experience
- Preferred: Bachelor’s or Associates degree in Business and 1-2 years purchasing experience
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Contact suppliers for delivery updates on open purchase orders
- Maintain purchase order delivery dates in our ERP system
- Process vendor order acknowledgements and updates ERP system
- Run reports to identify follow up opportunities
- Purchase material for assigned suppliers using the ERP system
- Work with suppliers to develop processes and improve the communication of delivery changes
- Communicate with cross functional team members on delivery issues
- Update supplier pricing in ERP system
- All other duties as assigned
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Understanding purchasing procedures and policies
- Experience with Microsoft Office
- Excellent attention to detail
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
- General office environment with some exposure to industrial shop environments
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
